ZamaShort is a new imprint from StoryTime Publishing who brought you the StoryTime magazine, and the African Roar and AfroSF series of anthologies.

ZamaShort is solely focusing on the amazing powerhouse that is the short story. We believe in giving each short story its own publication so that it may have its own spotlight. To be read and enjoyed and savoured fully as a stand-alone publication. As per the StoryTime Publishing mandate initialised in 2007, with ZamaShort we continue to champion and add to the ever-growing canon of African literature excellence and diversity.

Our first publication was 'Piss Corpse' by Muthi Nhlema on the 1st May 2025, and we have published one a month since then.

StoryTime Publishing is a micro-publisher dedicated to publishing short fiction by emerging and established African writers. Founded in 2007 by Ivor W. Hartmann in response to the deficit of African literary magazines we started publishing a weekly literary magazine online called StoryTime from June 2007 to June 2012. In 2010 we published our first print anthology African Roar.
